After winning their first regional title since 1979, the Midland Chemics (18-7) were attempting to make the state semifinals for the first time in 46 years. They fell to Macomb Dakota Cougars in Grand Blanc 66-47.

Midland Captures First Regional Title Since 1979

In a game that was expected to be won by the team from Saginaw, it was Midland who prevailed. The Chemics held off the Trojans 60-56 for the first regional title under head coach Eric Krause.
