Midland’s Season Ends with Loss to Macomb Dakota
After winning their first regional title since 1979, the Midland Chemics (18-7) were attempting to make the state semifinals for the first time in 46 years. They fell to Macomb Dakota Cougars in Grand Blanc 66-47.
Midland Captures First Regional Title Since 1979
In a game that was expected to be won by the team from Saginaw, it was Midland who prevailed. The Chemics held off the Trojans 60-56 for the first regional title under head coach Eric Krause.
Dow wins classic in girls District Semifinals
In the closing seconds of regulation and Midland leading 48-47, Dow freshman guard Maizie Taylor drove to the bucket and scored with under 10 seconds remaining to give the Chargers the victory 49-48.
